Sports Shooter Academy VI – by Alexandra Browning

Alexandra Browning, MU junior, participated in the Sports Shooter Academy, a sports photography workshop held in Orange County, Calif. The workshop, held by Sports Shooter, offers free tuition to students thanks to a sponsorship from Nikon.

Sports Shooter Academy afforded me an incredible experience to work alongside a phenomenal group of photographers, both professional and student. The opportunity to be exposed to a wide variety of sports with so much advice, equipment, and support at every turn was completely unique to any experience I’ve had while learning. The kindness and genuine interest on behalf of the faculty in making the Academy a beneficial experience, as well as an atmosphere to really build relationships with everybody there were both extremely impressive and I would recommend going to anybody. I would like to thank everybody who was involved in this year’s Academy, and I hope that any photographer interested in the techniques that can be learned in sports photography, and then applied to all forms of photography, will consider Sports Shooter as an opportunity to explore.
