In My Bag – by Ignacio Galvez

Ignacio GalvezIgnacio Galvez is based in Santiago, Chile, but he’s abroad a lot. Working in advertising for many agencies, he also shoots bands, on stage, backstage, portraits, on the road, etc. He released his first book of live music photos in 2013 in Chile with photos taken in Chile, Brazil and the United States. Recently, Ignacio released the english version in the US at Space 15 twenty in Hollywood, CA under Farmhouse Publishing. His love for music, skateboarding and tattoos always keep him in relation with streets and underground scenes, that also enjoy playing with his Hardcore Band “562”.

I like to keep my gear to the minimum possible. I love what I do –I’ve shoot many bands throughout years and been in so many festivals– and also love being a freelancer, because it allows me to travel, play with my band, and enjoy my kids, Jacinta (2 years) and Clemente (9 months). I have an enormous detachment from my gear; I think the most important thing are the results, pictures, that’s why I don’t have a problem using it everywhere and I don’t freak out if something gets broken or dirty. It also applies to my day-to-day life. I think the less equipment you carry, the more you focus on the picture.
