London Olympics Day 4 – by Jed Jacobsohn

Olympics diving

Sports photographer Jed Jacobsohn spent the 4th day of the Olympics at the Aquatics Center covering the diving and swimming events.

I spent the entire day at the Aquatics center yesterday, starting out shooting diving in the afternoon and then swimming in the evening. It ended up being a historic day as, Michael Phelps collected his 19th Olympic medal, making him the all time medal leader in Olympic history.

Shooting underneath the diving venue provided a unique view into the underwater experience as the divers enter the water. The trick was to capture them as they enter the water, the challenge being knowing when they will arrive, as you can’t see them take off.
