LA-based photographer Eric Thayer keeps a visual diary of all his iPhone photos through Tumblr.
I started the blog in December of 2010 as a sort of visual diary.
Sometimes it all starts to blur together, being on the road. I remember seeing blogs from people who used their phones and filter apps and came up with some really nice images. I didn’t really tell anyone about the blog, and just sort of kept it for myself, to try to remember these random moments in time and space, things that I knew my memory would never hold onto. I figured I could break the passing of time into fragments of consciousness. I never really looked back to the beginning, but in doing so, it made me realize that I have been to so many places. But I have also been back in some of the same places, almost in a migratory journalist sort of way. It’s really made me realize the patterns in my own life, but also, how extraordinarily lucky I have been to be able to see and experience as much as I have.
Keep up with Eric’s travels on Tumblr.
