Brooklyn-based photographer Meg Wachter has been working on a project documenting public green space in Brooklyn.

596 acres is how much vacant public land existed in Brooklyn alone as of April 2010. It is also a public education project aimed at making communities aware of the land resources around them and helping neighbors form connections to the vacant lots in their lives. Find out more at 596acres.org.
