Bankruptcy for The Wall Street Journal – by David Walter Banks

Atlanta-based photographer and co-founder of Luceo Images, David Walter Banks, photographed a story about bankruptcy for The Wall Street Journal.

With more than 1.6 million Americans expected to file for bankruptcy this year, the face of those involved is changing.  I did a quick portrait shoot with Linda Frakes, one of the examples of this new breed of bankruptcy for The Wall Street Journal. After her business failed, she fell into over $300,000 in credit card debt and was forced to foreclose on her home, lose her car and declare bankruptcy.  She now lives in a new home in Cumming, Ga., and drives a car from the only dealership who would give her a loan, a Jaguar.  Frakes is the author of the book, “How to Go Broke In Style.”  Personally I believe that if you live within your means you can avoid going broke altogether, but if you find yourself going down that path you might want to check out Linda’s book.  Read more about rebuilding lives post-bankruptcy on the WSJ website here.
