Washington DC-based freelancer Jay Westcott had 2 minutes to make a portrait of Tony Hayward, CEO of BP, who was in town to meet with Congressional leaders on Capitol Hill regarding the oil spill in the Gulf.
Late Monday evening I received a call from my editor at Polaris Images with an assignment for Tuesday morning. It was for the London Times, a one on one interview session and I was to take a few portraits of Mr. Tony Hayward, the CEO of BP. BP is the leaseholder for the oil rig that exploded and has caused the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Needless to say, Mr. Hayward has come under a lot of criticism lately and was in Washington to meet with Congressional leaders on Capitol Hill later in the day.
