On The Road With The Tea Party – by Daryl Peveto

Ventura, California-based freelancer Daryl Peveto is on a three-week tour covering over 7,000 miles and 20 states with the Tea Party Express.

Some weeks ago I saw a story idea that caught my eye – the Tea Party Express was making its annual tour across America. The larger Tea Party movement seems to be growing into something larger than the small groups that make it up and this being the year of the midterm elections, I thought it would be a timely subject. I pitched the idea to several pubs – a few of which were interested, but not enough for three paid weeks on the road. I did manage to get some time from TIME Magazine for the opening of the trip (unfortunately, these images are embargoed until publication).
